Hubei Province is promoting the standardization of storefront signage services and establishing a full-chain quality control system for signage projects
Recently, the Hubei Entrance Signboard Design and Production Service Standardization Promotion Conference was successfully held at the local advertising industrial park. Dozens of large signage engineering enterprises from within the province participate, covering a complete industry chain including design, sheet metal processing, painting, light source assembly, on-site installation, and after-sales maintenance. This conference brought together the experience of thousands of provincial projects and released a comprehensive reference guide for quality control of storefront signage, aiming to address long-standing industry pain points such as unclear delivery standards, chaotic schedules, and unstable quality, while supporting the standardization and upgrading of the regional advertising signage industry.
For a long time, the threshold for store signage has been relatively low, with many small workshops and advertising stores competing in the market, and the industry lacks unified reference standards. For the same store project, different service providers may vary greatly in material selection, craftsmanship, and delivery cycles. There are frequent misunderstandings between customers and service providers: the high-end stores customers expect actually have issues such as thin panels, paint color differences, uneven lighting, and unstable installation; There is no unified reference for project progress; Some projects have been repeatedly postponed, leading to numerous controversies. Many projects focus only on the appearance of the final product, neglecting intermediate steps such as measurement, design, factory inspection, and on-site acceptance, making it difficult to define responsibility when problems arise.
This promotion meeting outlined a reference for full-process standardized operations. Starting from the initial site survey, it is necessary to measure the wall structure, wall materials, and the location of the on-site building pipelines. To avoid mismatches between the design plan and actual site conditions, the plan cannot be formulated solely based on photos provided by the client. During the design phase, suitable scenarios for restaurant retail, cultural tourism stores, and park enterprises were clearly distinguished, prioritizing moisture-proof and oil-resistant craftsmanship for restaurant facades; Street-facing outdoor projects focus on wind resistance and weather resistance. The conference also provided references for delivery cycles for projects of different scales. For ordinary single-store small shops, installation is completed within 3-7 days after confirming the plan; Medium-sized stores require 7 to 15 days; For large spiritual fortresses and park signage projects, construction schedules can be negotiated separately based on scale, reducing unreasonable commitments during construction.
During the production and processing stages, reference baselines for sheet thickness, spraying process, and light source configuration are set, distinguishing between ordinary commercial-grade and engineering-grade materials, and customers are clearly informed of the outdoor service life of different grades of materials. During the handover and acceptance phase, an on-site acceptance checklist is developed, covering installation sturdiness, lighting uniformity, paint quality, and wiring waterproofing. The contractor and buyer jointly sign and confirm the completion of closed-loop delivery. For off-site projects, industrial enterprises have established cooperation mechanisms, using remote on-site verification and remote construction teams to build remote projects, solving the problem of cross-regional project matching.
Of course, there are practical obstacles to advancing standardization. A large number of individual order customers prioritize low prices and are unwilling to pay for standardized quality control processes; Many county-level small and micro advertising stores lack the capacity to implement the entire process. The newly issued guidelines serve as industry reference standards, not mandatory regulations. They guide large enterprises to prioritize implementation, driving overall industry progress.
Representatives of participating companies stated that standardization is not just about making all marks exactly the same, but about unifying operating processes and quality control bottom lines, transforming hidden industry experience into actionable regulations. For businesses, standardization can reduce rework and lower disputes; For merchants, this effectively avoids low-priced, low-quality projects. With the gradual implementation of these guidelines, the service quality of Hubei Province's storefront signage projects will be overall improved, and it will also become a reference example for industry standardization in other provinces nationwide.
